Diary 1
Today's lesson consisted of analysing each group's short film for improvements and new ideas. The title of our group's film is called "A day in the life" this consists of a homeless, young and depressed girl making her attempts to recieve money by begging in the middle of a dirty street when she then recieves £1 she buys 'strawberry shoe laces' (sweets) to mark the moment of film with Charlie Chaplin. Throughout our film are various camera shots and angles. the camera shot that stood out most for me was the close up shot of the girl that is desperate for money/food and signifies this by her angry facial expressions. We did not apply diegetic sounds into the film, we had a soundtrack which signifies the meaning of 'A day in the life'. Whilst watching the other short film clips helped us to signify the ways which camera shots, sound and performance could input into the film.
A questionnaire was created to recieve feedback from the audience.
- "What elements of micro features were you seeing the most in our film?"
- "What could have we improved?"
- "Did you recieve the main message from the film and what was it?"
Positive feedback was bought back to us by our use of lighting (black and white) and close up shots. The audience thought that these elements were the most thought about features throughout the film. However, somke comments will help us to think of ideas to imporve the performance of the shots. " hair up in one scene and hair down in the next" This could have been improved.
